Austria – Graz

The Graz Living Lab operates as a multi-site urban living lab, encompassing various neighborhoods and urban zones across the city to address and investigate challenges related to energy poverty and energy resilience in different contexts. Central to its implementation is the close partnership between the RESPED project team and the City of Graz’s Urban Planning Department, which is an associated partner in the project.

Through stakeholder engagement and co-creation workshops with residents, planners, utility providers, NGOs, and community groups, the Living Lab explores socio-economic drivers of energy poverty, affordability strategies, equitable clean energy access, and the role PEDs in strengthening resilience. Insights from Graz are then fed into a broader city‑learning community, enabling exchange and transferability between Graz and partner living labs in Finland, Italy and the Czech Republic.
